Lesley Campbell
Business analyst
Where were you working before you joined Nucleus
and what was your role?
Product Manager at a software house in London. The software is used by Investment Banks and Hedge Fund Managers in the structured credit market.
Why did you decide to join Nucleus?
I was looking to return to Edinburgh after 5 years in London. After feeling extremely uninspired I got a call about this small but growing company who were succeeding in turning retail financial services on its head. This was far too good an opportunity to miss.
What
are you trying to achieve in your role with Nucleus?
To deliver the technology so that Nucleus is the market-leading wrap platform on all fronts.
What’s the best concert that you’ve
attended?
Carmen at La Scala.
What super-power would you most like to have, and
why?
Not so much a super power but a magic wand would be nice.
Which historical figure do you
most admire and why?
I spent far too long thinking about this question and I had a shortlist comprising of Faraday, Newton, Emily Davidson and Marie Curie.
However, someone once said to me “your grandfather fought at Monte Cassino? Brave man.” He died before I was born but this comment has always stuck with me. We are still piecing together information about his life before he came to the UK.
So, although he was not famous my maternal grandfather (a Polish officer) is the person I most admire.
What is your favourite journey?
The train journey from Cusco to Machu Picchu. I recommend watching the sun rise and set over Machu Picchu.
If you were to have dinner with three people who would they be?
Stephen Fry
Miss Jean Brodie
Gordon Gekko (because lunch is for wimps)
