Donna-Louise Ritson
Risk manager
Where were you working before Nucleus and what was your role?
Standard Life as a divisional risk manager in UK Risk. Before that I was risk manager at Lloyds Banking Group.
Why did you decide to join Nucleus?
I saw an opportunity to be part of something different, in a company that is very customer-centric, has vision and energy.
What are you trying to achieve in your role with Nucleus?
Risk management is great because you have the chance to help improve the way we do things, support our business decision-making and help everyone keep their focus on what is best for clients, shareholders and staff. That’s what I want to achieve – and have some fun too of course!
Which historical figure do you most admire and why?
Edmund Blackadder – for not making a drama out of a crisis, but instead some fine comedy!
What is your favourite journey?
Life’s journey is pretty good for me, but failing that the A9 north from Inverness to Gills’ Bay on the way to the Orkney Isles – lovely.
What’s the best concert you ever attended?
Since David Ferguson has already picked David Bowie at the Barrowlands, I will go for Jason Falkner at Dingwalls Camden Lock, London in August 2002. Awesome in every way.
What super-power would you most like to have and why?
I would love foresight as I don’t like surprises. I guess that’s why I am in risk management – always looking for what is coming towards us.
If you were to have dinner with three people, who would they be?
David Bowie (the coolest human being on the planet), Richard Holloway (a true leader in our time) and probably Dawn French (can you imagine the stories and dirty jokes?).
